The Every Day Cook Book Encyclopedia Illustrated 1892 - eBay (item 270660850413 end time Nov-14-10 18:56:44 PST)

We ran across this really old cookbook. I  Hope when I am as old as this cookbook I am in this good of shape. I placed it up on Ebay. I hope someone takes it and give it a good home. Its very interesting reading esp. with the history part of it and how people think and how they made food during that time period, its sure long way from microwaving cooking that’s for sure. Cooking has come along ways Smile

Card Swaps for Nov.

I joined up with a new yahoo group called USA Card Making Swap Group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/USA_CardMakingSwapGroup/ I managed to make a couple ATC’s and Free Card. The Theme for the ATC’s is Nature. I had a couple stamps that I thought would reflect that. I used color markers to color them in and a sliver metallic pen and some glitter glue and some distress ink and some stamp up ink to give it a distressed look to them. The Free card I used ribbon, paper that I got on sale at Joann's ( one of my favorite places to shop at.) Sticky Bling Bling, The moon pic and saying came from “Expect a Miracle” mini pull tab card set.

Findings of the Day

As some you know I sell stuff on Ebay. I started doing this over 2 years ago and have been hooked ever since..Thanks to my best friend. Every week we go out hunting for stuff to sell on ebay, we go to yard sales, rummage sales at churches, estate sales, moving sales, thrift stores. We find pretty interesting stuff. This week my other half and another friend hit another great estate/ moving sale…my other half drugged home 100 plus cookbooks ( he sells them and I get the left overs, and would you believe he cant cook?) at a great price. The my friend stopped by and brought over 6 big U-Haul boxes full of crafting books, from the same place, we split them up. I kept a couple for myself of course ( I got hobbies in crafts too) like the soap making one ( I always wanted to know how to make them and make up some to give as gifts) A paper craft book ( you know me with my new found obsession card making) and stamp making, and how to draw letters in fancy ways ( write like chicken scratch).

If you are reading this and would like to share some of your great findings, I would love to hear it…I will try to keep posting ours and let you know how they turn out.

A Card Making Joke

I was present with a card last night from a dear friend. She made up a card, and written on the card her adventure in making this card. I can relate so much due to all the trials and error I have made in with learning how to make cards.  We were laughing so hard that we had tears rolling down our cheeks. I am going to share this with you..I hope it makes you laugh hard and have tears down your cheek as well.

Ok, so maybe not cool and crafty like yours, how about HANDWRITTEN? Let me tell you a little story: This is the fourth card…You didn’t tell me the envelopes wouldn’t fit! I kept cutting and cutting the card to fit the envelope of course, after I made them…Well, over there is what was left of card #3 (in the 2nd picture on the lower right hand side of the opened card is a little card glued on) So, then I realized again  after I started I was supposed to glue this paper to the cardstock. Oh well, see inserted piece of cardstock ( the 1st picture of the gold metallic paper with cut out stars) I also paid absolutely no attention to what type of glue to use. Thus the wrinkly effect on the card is from the leftover JB Weld we used on the car. I don’t have cool toys like you, However…I gave you 3 of my favorite Pokémon stickers (by the way we hate Pokémon). I gave up on the gluing of the bling bling, So I gave you 2 bling bling hair pins Oh & I would've given you the other cut out stars but the %^&^* stars thingy's popped off the card and landed glued side down on my floor  to forever stay. Remember I used car glue. So I sewed the ones on that were left Oh yea…The flower on the envelope  The first 3 times I sewed the envelope shut. Progress not perfection. This was a little story to make you laugh so yuck it up ..No more cards..I am outta of supplies.

Here is a bag card I did, I like the idea that you can stick something into it like hot chocolate packets etc. Its wasn’t too hard to make, much easier than the tea bag ones I was trying to make larger to fit the coco packets in Smile
